They are both easter collareds. The names were coined to help identify what is thought to be a pretty unique trait amonst certain breeding populations.

The term "aquaflame" was coined by Dr. Thomas Jones, describing my favorite colored collared lizard. The name describes the blue/green (aqua) body, and flame yellow/orange head.

The term "Bluestar" is a name that Mike McCambridge coined to describe his collareds. His parents were purchased as Texas wildcaughts back in 1996. He still has very few left. He is the only person I know of in the US that still has the "official" bluestar collareds. I sold my breeding trio to a guy just this Spring. Perhaps he will have some offspring next season, but I think he was going to breed the females to some of his baileyi male. The baileyi is also a C. collaris, but used to be recognized by C. collaris baileyi.

Hope that helps out.

PS...I am the only breeder of "Habenero heads" that I know of LOL

Just kidding.

Just terms coined, to identify different colored collareds. Look down at my post today Aquaflamed, look at Squashy's pic he is called an aquaflame, because hes Blue with yellow head and neck, or neck orangey, they are very vibrantly colored. A Blue star is a very light colored blue collared can be alittle darker, with a certain spotted pattern. Very beautiful indeed. There really is no such thing, they are both C. COLLARIS
But like I say, have been given those names for different colorations, thats all. Somebody may want to add more. Eve
