alot of you guys are mentioning this reference source, but when i search it in search engines i get mixed results with more than 3 books with the same title...

could you guys please give me a picture that i could refer to so that i can purchase a "correct" copy?

p.s. i also hear ron trempers name alot in alliance with the Manual

this is the one i have:

another good book by tremper is "the herpetoculture of leopard geckos"

thats wierd.. cause another member of this forum (sleepygecko) referred to the book as a good reference for beginners/old-timers, indicating that the publishing date of the book should be old, looking at that i thought it was the one with the purple cover.

and that book dosent say written by ron tremper (unless roger is the same person?)

how long is that book? [the first one]

That is the book that sleepy is referring to - the new publication date is probably just a newer edition; I have an older one with a different cover, but it's the same book. It's not terribly long, but it's got lots of good information.

Yup, that's the one, like college textbooks, gotta release a new one and make more money. You'll get it and it will probably say original CP date is older and maybe only minor revisions or updates to the genetics.

I haven't figured out if I like the new cover, it is a good picture, but looks a little too much like those 'dummies' books.

Should we all report which version we have now? I've got the purple one.

Sorry I wasn't as clear as I could have been, I always expect people to just jump on Amazon and that is the first hit if you search "leopard gecko manual"... hey, mine's only worth 15 cents on Amazon! Man, the dollar is poor.

Pretty sure that's the one sleepy is talking about, yeah, cause that's exactly what my copy looks like.

It isn't in a manual but the information provided on the VMS herp website is as good as you will find. They have produced a ton of geckos and are clear about how to care for them.

That's the one I have, the newer one might have new morph information, but probably stuff that is easy and better to find on the web because it changes so frequently is has probably changed since the printing.

The information on husbandry and care doesn't change and the juvi on the cover is cuter.
