strange nelsoni pics..

josephschmidt Mar 26, 2008 12:35 AM

Here are some photos of a pretty cool nelsoni that I thought you guys might want to take a gander at. She's a product of double het to double het (striped/albino). She is finally big enough to breed this year, so I am hoping something fun happens. I'd love to hear what you guys think...

Thanks-

She is very cool, are you breeding her to another double het?

this is a line I started way back in the day. This pair of aberrants are het amel and they have been breeding up a storm the last few days.

this is the founder w/c mom.

here are a few of the cool babies they have produced.I only have a couple pics as this pair was on loan for a few years and I have no pics of the clutches.

in about 4 clutches and about 25 snakes I only ever produced one amel.I think Nathan only produced one also the couple years he had them. They are due to produce a bunch this year.LOL...

one of the really cool pos hets.

Hey Shannon, I have a female that has a similar pattern to the hatchlings you posted... for years I figured she just wasn't a nelsoni because my others have a pretty "Classic" Look (they have a more Sinaloan look to them though).

This female has a weird "bullseye-Spotted" pattern with some tail stripping, none of her bands connect at her belly, her belly pattern is Red-Patternless with Black flecking.

That all being said Please Keep me in mind for a Male (hopefully an amel)... she was sold as a Het or poss. het Amel (can't remember which)

Thanx

were did you get her? if she came from mattisse, jason nelson, ric blair or nathan then its from my line and that would be cool.

I will keep you in mind for a boy.

besides western hogs, about the only thing i mess with is a pretty small collection of little side projects i think are cool and fun like the nelsoni group and a trio of double het ruthvni. Besides that, I'm just into hogs but I'm always wondering what's going on with all the cool stuff you guys got going on. From time to time, I look over and man there are some cool things going on; milk and king wise, I am pretty impressed. I can't imagine what's going on behind the curtains. lol

Thanks shannon for all the cool feed back and keepin me in mind on that male. That'll be pretty cool hopefuly I'll have some luck with mine and get some more neat lookin ones. And if i get lucky maybe an albino somthing or another. My group consists of 1.0 double het, 0.2 albino, 0.2 striped pos hets and that weird female.

Oh, and they come from my good friend Justin.

This female actually came from Tim Spuckler (Third Eye Herps)

I assume she shares some genetics with the striped-abberant specimen on his website:

she did bred for me last season (only one egg made it all the way) and produced a pretty normal specimen with a white belly (similar to his sire)... but looking at the female i always thought she may have potential to produce aberrant specimen.

old pic of her:

wow thats crazy how much she changed.that sucks only one egg made it through! are you gna use the same male as last year?
hows the belly on the young one lookin?

ZFelicien Mar 28, 2008 10:39 AM

I haven't made up my mind as yet on whether or not to breed her this season... but I till be to the same male, until I get another suitable mate (or mates)...

I actually sold the hatchling she produced (he's in japan so there's no way I'm gonna track him down)... but in hindsight I should've kept him...

hopefully I can get a male from Shannon and a pair of Splotched hatchlings to play around with...

Hey shannon,
yeah shes going to go with a nice big proven double het male.(could be the sire) There were a few others that came out of her clutch. Also, all of them have little pied markings through them I'm going to breed her with another one that looks like her next year. I'm trying to see what's going on inside. My guess is that she's some sort of wierd stripe which would make her 66% het albino if what she looks like is genetic it would look pretty awesome as an albino.
I'll make sure that i post pics and info about what happens.
Thanks for the comments and the pics. That looks like a pretty fun project you have going and that WC female looks super cool as well as the albino. Nice job!!

thanks,
joe

Very sweet looking animal Joe and thanks for sharing. I have produced a handful of animals that look very similar over the past few years from that very same breeding of double hets (albino/spolotched). Some individuals can truly be striking.
Here is a really nice female that I produced in 2007

Here are some siblings that I produced in 2006 from the same parents that produced the female above.

Looks like some Freaky "Splotched" variation... but she has normal banding... very cool!

A Paradox maybe?

-pied head and Belly.

-Striped tail

-the nose, tail, and coloration of the tongue looks Amelanistic

BUT normal Banding along the back... it'll be cool to see the results if/when she is bred back to her sire (or an amel or splotched specimen)

Thanx 4 sharing

The killing and rekilling of that little stick dude is negative and redundant. How about a couple of stick people humping like crazed weasels?
I just started laughing over that thought.
