Are these all your pets Doug?

You have some absolutely gorgeous animals there.

Very healthy looking as well.

Peace,
Wayne

DMong Mar 26, 2008 06:56 PM

Thanks Wayne,......

Yes, they are all mine, except for the sweet pink ghost corn that I photographed over my friends house, he has some super looking animals as well. They are just a few of the animals I have here.

Thanks again!

Very interesting post Doug.

Really liked the normal tri-color honduran.

Really liked the pink corn.

Really liked the locality brooksi.

You already know what I think of the aberrants. Even in blue she is smoking.

But your Colombian boa has a rope stuck in it's throat, you should have that checked.

DMong Mar 26, 2008 07:14 PM

Thanks for the compliments, Dell. Glad you like the critters I recently photographed. And yes, I can certainly understand how you'd take a "shining" to the female aberrant(wink, wink)!

BTW, I thought I might have a vet take a look at that "rope" hanging out of the female Boa's mouth, but it only seems to happen once every ten days or so, and by the time I load her up in the truck to go, it's friggin' GONE!,....what's up with that?..LOL!

Great group of animals you've got there. I'm certain that's just the "tip of the iceberg", so to speak, and I'd love to see your collection some day.

-Cole

DMong Mar 26, 2008 07:24 PM

Thanks Cole,..........

Yeah, like you said, just a few off the ol' iceberg!

I know you have a slew of cool stuff too, like all those sweet N.A. milks!,.........do you have some other species as well at the house you could post?, I'm sure we'd all like to see them!

Nice Doug,

That yellow rat is really nice... what a difference the opposite side of the state can make! All nice but that juvie floridana looks to be a screamer... looking forward to watching it grow!

>>> "That yellow rat is really nice... what a difference the opposite side of the state can make!"

Chris,.....thanks man!, I've said the exact same thing to many, many folks, especially a few that would rather think of the obsoleta complex as basically one. Many ratsnakes from other parts of the country certainly have influence from surrounding subspecies, but as you mentioned, over here on the east coast, of central Florida, the Yellow Rats are ALL Yellow Rat, with NOTHING else in the mix, as this "killer" individual displays!

BTW, Glad you appreciate the female brooksi as well, I think her, and her sibling are really coloring up nicely too!

Hey Doug,

Where did that great looking female "ultra" extreme originate?

-Rusty

Chris...does this one look familiar?

blupanther Mar 26, 2008 05:50 PM

Love those aberrants. Gonna have to get me one eventually. Of course, then I'd also have to get a mate for him/her!

Hey Rusty,....

The "Ultra" line, is from Lee Abbott's(Mr. Okeetee Corn's)line of extremes. He didn't want people confusing them with Mike Falcon's animal stock, and didn't want to "step" on Mike's toes either, so to speak, and selling his with the already used "extreme" name coined by Mike.

One unique looking trait that most, if not ALL Lee's had, were the two really complimenting orange colors they have, I just can't get enough of her, she's definitely one of my favorites!

Oh, and I'd say that's quite a super looking VP you have pictured there too!.....VERY nice!

RG Mar 27, 2008 09:13 AM

Thanks for the info Doug....so did Lee stumble upon this Ultra version line from unrelated Falcon stock?

I've know Lee for many years...mainly back when he was into pyros and graybands.

Oh, and that VP extreme is a Falcon line...and it was Terry M.'s now Chris (cn013) has them I believe.

-Rusty

jawn Mar 27, 2008 09:32 AM

wasn't it Ultra-light hypos? I don't think Lee was calling them Ultra Extremes.

(Falcon extreme below - no flash)

He actually had it labeled ""ULTRA HYPO", just for the record.
Regardless of what they're labeled, both his, and Mike's are great looking animals.

"ultra light" hypos now.I have tried over and over for about 4 years now to use the term "ultra light" hypo when it has some extreme blood in it but isn't quit up to snuff of being a extreme.I have even sold off some in the classifieds as ultra light hypos but they have nothing to do with Lee Abbott.
Just too funny I tell you.

here are some examples.
this is a full blown falcon extreme breeding a anery het hypo.

here is the clutch that had one double het ghost and the rest were hypos het anery and about half could almost pass as extremes but I chose to call the ultra light hypos het anery.

L8r Shannon

RG Mar 27, 2008 01:11 PM

and if so...did they retain that light hypo look?

-Rusty

shannon brown Mar 27, 2008 02:02 PM

I didn't hold any back cause I have some extreme's het anery and a ghost from a clutch of extremes etc....

Shannon

DMong Mar 27, 2008 10:42 AM

I don't know the details as to what he bred to what to start his line, next time I talk to him, I'll make a point to bring that up.

That sure is funny!,....That VP sure gets around!..LOL!

I see him at Daytona every year!

-Rusty

DMong Mar 27, 2008 01:29 PM

I will,....but only if I see him before YOU do..LOL! The last time I spoke to him was also at Daytona.

Lee's....

Falcon's....

cn013 Mar 27, 2008 03:54 PM

Hmmmn I remember pondering a while over Lee's table @ Daytona. Had I know his line turned out as nice as yours Doug I may have gone 'against my better judgement' in walking away. I know I've said it before but you're right the two tones of orange do make that a sweeeet snake!

Chris

DMong Mar 27, 2008 11:41 PM

Yeah, man, those two complimenting tones of orange are just INSANELY beautiful to me. She will no doubt be a part of some fantastic projects!

thanks again!, ~Doug
