compatability of pastel lines

syndicate559 Mar 26, 2008 07:06 PM

Here's a question that I've been wondering about: Are all lines of pastels compatable? For example, I just purchased a female from the Graziani line. If I wanted to bring the yellow up, could I breed her with a NERD lemon in the future? Will they produce supers together?

Another question I've been wondering about is if there is a black pastel super. If so, anyone have pics? Thanks.

Eddie

As far as I know, the pastels are all compatible.

Black pastel, IIRC is like cinnamon - the super is a patternless black snake.

Yes, I just read that on the NERD site, but there isn't a pic of one.

If you start out with quality pastel you wont need to breed it to something else to make a prettier pastel. But yeah - a pastel is a pastel and it's compatible with the rest of them. If you want to just produce nice pastels - I would go for the fire or vanilla pastel cross - unless you wanted to make supers - but supers can be ugly too if they aren't selectively bred - so you need to start out with decent stock. Funny how that works huh.

What about the Ruppel line, I know all the others are but does that include the ruppel line?
They have a different look all together.

Aren't the Enchi pastels NOT compatible with the other lines? Aren't they something entirely different?

Enchi pastels are not pastels - like black pastels are not pastels, cinny pastels are not pastels, etc.

Yes but the Ruppel line is by FAR the best out there. I mean just look at the supers it produces and still they fetch a little higher price than others.

I'm actually in the process of buying a female pastel from Stan Ruppel, so it's good to hear the positive things being said. Are there any photos floating around of other pastels and supers that have come out of his stock?
