My 6 year old male Russian has always been the most restless tortoise I've ever known & in the afternoons all he does is pace the perimeter of his pen. Lately I've been letting him roam around the yard after putting a piece of red tape on his shell so I can easily locate him. This leaves a residue that isn't easy to clean off a critter than can't stand to be touched.
Any recommendations on how I can keep up with this guy?

My Yellow foots were getting out of their box and hid around the house – I went to the local radio shack store and bought a key finder. Stick it to his shell and would press the button – Beep Beep Beep – no more hiding from me. I now have a new box with much higher walls and he is only out of his box when I feed him (I let him to go free in my living room).
