Ordered my King cage...

Rob328gts Mar 27, 2008 12:07 PM

Yesterday I ordered a custom cage (need to fit into bookshelf) from repti-racks. I selected them because of ability to make a custom dimension cage along with they're only about 10 minutes from my house. Cage will come with roof heat pad, fluorescent light, and custom hide box.

I need to make sure I have everything else ready. I ordered the following items today.

1 x Wipe Out 2 - 8.75 oz - Cleaner for Terrarium Furniture (WO-28)
1 x Wipe Out 1 - 32 fl. oz. (WO1-32)
1 x Precision Analog Reptile Thermometer & Humidity Gauge (TH-22)
1 x Corner Bowl - Large (fluk30002)
4 x Aspen Snake Bedding - 8 quart (SB-8)
1 x Helix DBS1000 Proportional Therm

So I have a cage, heating, heat control, lighting, bedding, water bowl, hide, temp/humid gauge, and cleaning supplies. Anything else I will need?

I want to get the cage setup and make sure I can maintain the temps properly before getting my first snake. Closer to that time I need advice on where to get mice for f/t.

Thanks!

Wow, well you'll need a snake..

Honestly, you're doing it backwards. You're supposed to buy the snake, then ask how to take care of it. Providing a nice setup before you get the animal is just crazy

Nice job. Good luck.

>>> "Honestly, you're doing it backwards. You're supposed to buy the snake, then ask how to take care of it. Providing a nice setup before you get the animal is just crazy"

That was a good one!, yeah, as you well know, most folks method is to wonder how to take care of the animal AFTER getting it,....and I literally do mean WONDER!,.......they haven't a friggin' clue, and won't bother getting ANY books about the snake's they are getting, they would much rather post questions on the forum one at a time, as their bad husbandry methods/problems continuously arise.

I'm glad to see this person well prepared for the type of snake he plans on getting, I'd also bet he has some species specific literature as well. I wish more people did this when venturing to get ANY type of new animal.

best regards, ~Doug

So Doug, do you charge by hour or by pic? Need some new pics of mine here bad.

Scott

DMong Mar 28, 2008 01:07 AM

Are you kiddin',.......I'd have to charge 100 bucks per shot, going by how difficult it is to get acceptable ones I take of my own stuff!

BTW, I like funny reptile cartoons like that too!, I'll try to find one of my favorites, if I can remember where I saw the stupid thing!

Sounds pretty good. The only thing I can think of is that you might want to get a second hide. It's generally best to have one on the hot side and one on the cool side. Looking good though.

The last order of f/t mice I bought came from LLLReptile. I was happy with my order and their fast shipment. Eddie loves the fuzzies.
