HELP ME!! I am going to Wisconsin

DanW Mar 27, 2008 06:42 PM

I have accepted a traveling temp job and my first assignment is 13 weeks in balmy Wisconsin. I will not be too far from Chicago though. Is there any kindred spirits there? Any good herp spots or herp related places to see? Anything? I start Monday and finish on June 27. After that I don't know where in the United States I will go next. But I am excited.

Thanks,
Dan

Dan,

IF our weather keeps up like it is, the ground may not even thaw out by late June when you leave. Right now, we still have quite a bit of snow. I'm in the Wausau area. If you make any trips up this far North and want to see some ball morphs, boas, retics, geckos, etc., let me know.

Thanks,

Sounds great. I appreciate it a lot. I will be in Milwaukee. How far is Wausau? I believe I will be more than willing to make the trip.

Thanks much,
Dan

ah crap i just stupid laptop! Hoffers is one of the most well know stores in the area they also hold the herp society meetings there. Awesome displays but they are a little expensive. Marine land is a small shop but they have an 8 ft gator which is a sight of its own. Garrick is about 3 hours from milwaukee and has TONS of animals. I havent made it to the new shop YET but i saw the old one and he has since then expanded. In August if your still around I'd recommend hitting sewerfest its a reptile show which is only about 30-45 minutes travel time from milwaukee. They will have a variety of reptiles including venomous. Shoot me an email for specifics so we dont break any kind of moderation rules on the forum lol
