Breeding Question???

Leo_Lover07 Mar 29, 2008 08:12 PM

Im not a newb to leopard geckos but i am to breeding. My 2 females havw currently laid 6 eggs. One was infertile, 4 are incubating, but the other one was wierd. One of the girls laid an egg outside of there laying box, it was hard and covered in urates. Is it normal for a female to deposit unfertile eggs outside her laying box???

it has been my experience that they lay outside their lay box because there is something wrong with the substrate of the lay box. yours is probably either too wet or too dry. Some eggs laid outside of the box can be saved, but my experience has been that they are infertile.. i would say that if yours is hard and abnormal looking that yours is infertile but the only way to know for sure is to incubate it until it collapses or molds.. or hatches. then you will know for sure.
