We use papertowels. No problems. Just fold a soft one up and mist it down. We use those sandwhich type plastic containers and our gecko has always enjoyed it. Though once she got mad at us making too much noise or light and pushed the paper towel up against her entry hole. Apparently to shut us out.

ok ive decided to use paper towels because of its availablity

(time to raid my schools bathrooms!)

but am i supposed to mist it with warm water?

and do i have to have a heat lamp to humidify it? (which i already have), or should placing it on a UTH be fine?

I use vermiculite in a plastic tub with a hole in the lid year round on the cool side. I just remoisten it with a spay bottle with distilled water. I clean it out and put fresh in 3 times a year with no problems.
