Well, you'd want at least a medium... and for that price I could get at least a lifetime's worth of plastic sandwhich containers that I can just toss out instead of bleaching every year.
Of course, that one might look more "realistic" but who has a rock with a seam in it anyways?
Just MHO, we do have one of their multi room cave complexes because we needed something heavy to keep her from digging, but I she's always lived before without anything too special.

i have one of those zoo med hides. when i first got it, i was going to use it as a moist hide, but my gecko would not go in it for about a week. i figured it was because the plastic is thick and the inside was too cold even though the hide was on the warm side. so i drilled some holes into the bottom to allow more heat through. still no luck. so since then, i just use the top (lid) section as a hide because it looks more realistic. my gecko will go into it now. i use a cool whip container with moss in it for a moist hide. it does the trick. as for the recommendation, i cant recommend it as a humid hide even though ive read posts where people have had success with them. however, if you are looking for a semi realistic look, it fits the bill nicely.

ok then time for me to make my own moist hide!
It DOES make everything more natural, but that isn't always what's important. You can make your own hide box for a lot cheaper to serve the same purpose. I have a fake wooden log in my leos' cage that looks natural, and a plastic tub lined with damp paper towels in the same cage. It's all about preference!

It took me an hour to cut a ball python out of one of those with a hack saw two weeks ago! I dont like them for egg laying geckos because the bottom part isnt deep enough to hold much substrate. fine for one pampered gecko though
