ETB BREEDING HELP

BrandonMartin Mar 30, 2008 04:46 PM

OK THIS IS MY 1ST TIME TRYING TO BREED ETB'S . I HAVE 1.1 ETB'S MY FEMALE IS CLOSE TO 5' EATING SM RATS EVERY OTHER WEEK. MY MALE 4' OR SO & IS ON L-XL MICE . ABOUT THE 10TH OF MARCH I STARTED DROPING THE TEMP UNTIL I REACHED MY NTL OF 70 DEGREES AND NIGHT TIME HUMMIDITY OF 90%-95%. WITH DTH'S OF 85 DEGREES WITH 65%-70% HUMMIDITY IN THE DAYS. @ 12:00AM IT STAYS 70 DEGREES WITH 85-95% HUMMIDITY ,THEN AROUND 6:00AM IT'S 75 DEGREES WITH 80-90% HUMMIDITY ,THEN @ 12:00PM IT'S 80 DEGREES WITH 70% HUMMIDITY, THEN AROUND 3-4PM I REACH MY HIGH OF 85 STILL WITH MODERATE HUMMIDITY OF AROUND 65-70 . THEN AROUND 6:00PM I START DROPING TEMPS AND RAISING THE HUMMIDITY . THIS IS THE CYCLE I'VE BEEN USEING . JUST WONDERING IF THIS WILL WORK ?

THEN ON EASTER I PUT MY MALE AND FEMALE TOGEATHER . ON THE 29TH I SEPERATED THEM. MY MALE I HAVE LAST ATE ON THE 22ND AND MY FEMALE ON THE 29TH. THE TIME BEFORE THAT WAS ON THE 9TH . SHE SKIPPED A WEEK OR SO DUE TO SHEDDING THAT ACOURED ON THE 25TH.
I WAS WONDERING DO I NEED TO QUIT FEEDING HER NOW AND RAISE THE TEMPS BACK UP FOR A WHILE UNTILL SHE PASSES HER LAST MEAL? THEN AFTER THAT START LOWERING THEM AGAIN. RIGHT NOW SHE IS IN THE UPPER 70'S - MID 80'S WITH ABOUT 80% HUMMIDITY . I WANTED TO KNOW WHEN SHOULD I PUT THEM BACK TOGEATHER ? AND HOW OFTEN I NEED TO FEED THEM? AND WHEN I DO WHAT DO THE TEMPS AND HUMMIDITY NEED TO BE? AND FOR HOW LONG? THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ AND FOR ANY INFO YOU CAN GIVE ME.

Pretty good regimen though you need to stay at that for another 30 days or so. Keep feeding normally if they'll eat, all my adult males have shut down even though its the tail end of my season. I'd keep that brumation cycle if you can for another 30 days then introduce the male and leave him in w/her. Some of mine go right at the female immediately upon introduction though I have one really aggessive female who seems to intimidate all suitors at least for the first night...the they'll gradually wear her down!

Very nice pair you have!

I think you´re doing everything right. If the male stops accepting meals it is a very good sign.
I would cut his regimen by half anyways (or stop feeding at all for a month or so), otherwise it might be too full all the time to be interested in breeding.

Try to put the male at the female´s cage as soon as she sheds. Do it at late afternoon and them give them a nice mist. Wait and observe..

she shed the other day while the two where togeather i left him with her for another day or two the seperated them and put her shed skin in his cage . then i put them back togeather 3 days later . still nothing been togeather again for 3 day . tonight im going to sepperate them again . my male didn't eat earlier when i tried to feed him and he looks like he is fixing to shed and it looks like his anal area swolled up a little and his spurs sticking sideways . so how long do you think i should seperate them for untill i put them back togeather . also it's been hard for me to reach 70 at night time when my room is like 80 from all my red tail boa cages. ive been useing ice packs and frozen 2 letter bottles the lowest temp ive got them to was like 73 . i may need another 2 letter . my cage is 30x30x36tall hummidity is no problem and my cage seems to hold a constant temp but getting them to 70 has been a problem . i have another pic of my female im fixing to post if you want to take a look. and thank you for your help

I´d let them together in peace at least for a week ro 10 days.. And give them a few mists..
