Cage invader

I took my MBK out for a treatment as she has an infection and a little exercise. I left the top off her tank, as it's fairly high up (on my entertainment center) and nothing should have been able to get in.
.. Something did...

I came back afterwards to find this...

Yes I cleaned it all out after. But coming into the room and seeing that just made my day.

I'm glad that I keep her tank locked now

Be glad the cat didn't poop in there. I've never had that happen, but I see the way my cat, Puff, looks @ my snakes, and know without a doubt he wouldn't hesitate to drop a stinker given half a chance.

Actually no he didnt. He curled up in the shavings where the UTH is and fell asleep. It was rather cute, but now he tries to sneak in there whenever I go to feed my king.

That is cute. The shavings must have looked really comfortable. Plus the UTH certainly added to that, is that the warm side where he settled?

Yes it is, I have the heater in the back corner on the right side of the picture. He kept trying to keep his head on the heated area, but just kept squishing it against the glass instead.

Hilarious! That picture has just made my day. I could definitely see any of my three cats trying to do the same.

Haha- that's great!

I had that happen to me once before, too:

That is a cute pic with the cat. Just be glad you don't own a St Bernard!

When I kept my snakes inside ( they're now in their own building), my cat loved to come in and watch me feed. If he heard me in there, he would scratch and meow at the door until I let him in. He seemed content to just sit and watch and never bothered the snakes at all. In the middle of feeding one day, I turned around to find him sitting in the aquarium with a Florida King who was swallowing a mouse. He made no attempt to bother the snake and the snake just calmly kept feeding, but it sure freaked me out for a second!! I also remember reading a story somewhere about a Bearded dragon breeder who panicked when he realized he had left the door open to a room full of babies in an open topped bin. He rushed in to find his cat laying under the heat lamp with a bunch of baby beardies basking on the cat!!

That would be adorable!

Great shot...a real classic...

A long time ago, I had lizards...2 anoles and an iguana...in a 10-gal. Our cat was fascinated and would watch them for hours.

One day I came home from school to find Mom all flustered. Seems the cat got under the screen top, and proceded to get in the cage with the lizards. Apparently the cat couldn't catch the lizards because they kept jumping on him. Fortunately, Mom was more ammused than horrified, and managed to somehow extricate the cat without losing the lizards.

The iguana later escaped and grew to 2 ft over the summer in the backyard...in downtown Philadelphia. The anoles weren't so lucky and eventually found their way to porcelin heaven.

One of my current cats hisses at my snakes and finds them alarming. The other 3 don't much give hoot. The snakes seem pretty oblivious.

Cheers

I have a cat too, and come feeding time my wiggly pueblan is VERY interesting to my cat, but the cat will totally ignore the baby ball python. my dog on the other hand keeps wanting to lick my snakes, which inevitably results in musking and poo flinging. Dog has yet to figure out snakes don't like to be groomed.
