the natural habitat of ball pythons

i just got into a heated debate with a friend because he thought they were from the forest/ jungle but i was insisting their natural habitat was much closer to desert.

now i see pictures of people herpin for balls and there was palms and vegitation everywhere.

who is right?

It's somewhere in between. It's called the savannah. Not thick forest/jungle or bare desert but a grassland with shrubbery and some trees but mostly pretty open space with a defined wet and dry season.

Yes-those pics are of a savannah. They can be quite lush and green during the wet season. The palms are probably planted there by the locals for their nuts and oil. Those giant termite mounds are characteristic-and a good place for females to brood their eggs due to the high stable temps inside...
