Pregnant Jani

puntaegress Mar 31, 2008 08:04 AM

I have a female d. jani which was probably big enough to breed this year (a little over three foot and girthy) but I wanted to wait another year. Never been introduced to a male so there is zero chance she has been impregnated. Never the less, she appears to have eggs. Blanks no doubt. So I guess the rules of slowing down her feeding and then cutting her off entirely for the last couple weeks apply. Yes? To avoid binding? Kind of bummed because here I have a snake wich has to endure reproductive stress without actually producing anything. I have been feeding her pretty heavily and I wonder if this has caused her to develop eggs. Anyone have an opinion about that?

she is ovulating and when that happens I toss them in with a male and usually get good eggs.If she is going to go through all the motions then might as well get good eggs instead of just wet bags. Its your call but yes feeding her heavily caused it.
