Probably because Sharps are T-positive.

Hopefully Trey and I will have results on that soon enough to know for sure.

I don't understand why they are popping up only in the past few years. Also how does the T-Pos have affect on this color or lighter color? Why would T-Pos be darker or lighter unles it has to do with combination of other genes.I would think the whole litter would be affected.I don't know .Lar M

Because they are T-pos they have the potential to have those colors. Look at VPI T-plus, or Paradigms and you will also see some lighter and some darker. Some of which have saddles that are very brown. I would imagine that the parents play a role in the expression of the individual traits.

some of the siblings are showing this chocolate trait as well, but not as much. The parents are a double het sunglow male salmon to my 2003 het sharp female Ihle line. Some crazy things w/ this litter. I will post more pics soon.

LarM Mar 31, 2008 03:41 PM

Another question any other line besides Ihle connected to this? I wonder what line Tracy got her Chocolate type out of?Anybody else get Chocolates from other source? Lar M

Rich and Tracy both have original Sharps from Brian when he bred them.

I believe some of Tracys animals came from Doug Matuzak. which were acquired directly from Brian Sharp

LarM Mar 31, 2008 04:15 PM

Right the Pastel Dreams came from Doug.I didn't know they had some from Brian, but it only makes sense that they would, lol. Thanks ,Lar M

I'm curious how those browns would affect a snow or moonglow...

ChrisGilbert Mar 31, 2008 02:18 PM

The Sharp Hypo Snow has been called Snowglow. That goes to Ron Michelotti! Helps to differentiate between the Sharp and Kahl version by having distinct names. And arguably a more defining one.

Funny you mentioned that, I just bought a boa from him...

I like his company/website name...

LarM Mar 31, 2008 03:26 PM

Ron Miichelotti is great! he's been producing some of the best for years now. I have an '04 DH Sharp fem from him.I think she's gorgeous, lol.Lar M

I just picked up a Jungle from Ron a couple weeks back and this things outstanding! The man takes pride in his work and i would deal with him more if i could talk him into breeding lower end boa morphs!

RuBeN14 Mar 31, 2008 05:30 PM

Awesome animals Dan! Now, i'm not a pro but i'm pretty sure that Chocolate is a sunglow. Don't know if you already knew that cause you didn't mention it but just incase I thought i'd toss it out there sense no one else mentioned it. Anyways, congrats again on another colorful litter.

dan80woma Mar 31, 2008 05:36 PM

I was thinking the same thing, but I was not sure. Is this for sure ? Thanks

Ruben14 Mar 31, 2008 07:41 PM

In my honest opinion i'd say thats definitely a Sunglow with very nice deeeep color and some wacky saddles!

dan80woma Mar 31, 2008 08:21 PM

Thanks, it looks like I may have a few more freaks in this litter. It is amazing what is showing up, or it could just be I havent seen enough Sharp stuff out there and I am just a little star struck.

ChrisGilbert Apr 01, 2008 06:01 AM

That's the great thing about producing your own. All those special secrets that other breeders hold back and buyers never see, or can't buy, are now yours to keep!
