Dry and itchy eyes on Sulcata

asch803 Mar 31, 2008 12:16 PM

My Sulcata has dry and tchy eyes and i'm wondering what i can do to relieve the itching and dryness. I've been soaking him daily the past week or so, but that doesn't seem to be helping. His appetite is also not that good. Please help!

Thanks!

Andrew

My young sulcata is feeling the same way

whats the average humidity in your enclosure?

I raised mine from 15% to 30% , and have started giving him eye drops in addition to the soaking/bathing and this has helped him considerably..

Also what UVB light(s) are you using?

Compact florecents and the exo-terra repti-glo 10.0 bulbs are causing a wide variety of eye related issues with reptiles.

get rid of them asap.
get a zoomed Repti-SUN 10.0 tube florecent.
