Only one of my females is mature enough to breed, she is 4 yrs and 1500 gr. She was off feed most of the winter, normaly a rat eater she would only eat a mouse every 4 or 5 wks. My males are all young, hatched last june, and I didn't realy expect to breed this yr, but did put her with a male whenever a low front was comeing thru just to see what would happen. For the most part they showed no interest in each other till 19 march I observed her locked up with the pastel, She may have locked with the mojave or spider but I never saw any thing. A week later on 26 march she is back to summer time aggresive feeding behavior.
Sorry this is getting long, but my questions are. How likely am I to get a clutch from this or is the male just too young? If it takes, when should I see ovulation? Is it normale to go from breeding to agressive feeding in one week? I realize nobody can know for sure till sometning happens, just looking for opinions. CM

Most of my girls usually start feeding heavily when they start breeding. But like you said there is no real way to tell until you start seeing the signs.

Good luck
