Burnination at 6 months???

figuerres Aug 29, 2003 08:02 AM

Hi, my first post got ate by clicking on tools & toys so this re-post will be shorter.... ask more if you need to...

6-7 months, good weight, wants to go hide and sleep.

16" long -- grew most of that size during the first 3-4 months

seems generaly healthy.

does bask but likes to go to the cool spots when given the chance.

if I let him out to roam and exercize he heads back to his cage area, it's on a table and undeneath is a carpet over a concrte slab floor so it's a cool dark corner and he seems to love it.

he did have coccidia and was treated for that about 2 months back.

ideas?

could this just be an "Early sleeper" (less than a year)?

should I go back to the vet and have more tests done?

not losing weight as far as I can tell....

has good heat and light availible to him

bask area is min 95 deg during daytime ( depending where he goes he could get to 110 ok... )

night temps never go below 73 -- normally about 75-76

lights are at least 12 hrs per day

any ideas???

shpuld I just let him chill for a few weeks and see what happens??

more fecal exams and such?

Thanks! I'm not sure if I should worry or just chill with him

yes it is possible sometimes it's hard to fool them about the seasons. they feel a change in barametric pressure or something else that tells them time to sleep so off they go. sometimes they will figure out its not time yet and change their minds. if it were me I would take it day by day and if your BD decides to brumate then let her.

Thanks, thats perty much the way I've been so far....

funny cause some mornings it's

"Lets Go, give me some food, poop... let me out so I can get into trouble...."

and others it's like "Grrrr, Go away"

and I think he knows the apt. well, he will always head back to the area under his cage....
