Does anyone here house egyptians together?

I know there are some who do, but I do not advise it.

Egyptians are big, powerful animals, even at small sizes and keeping them together is just asking for trouble.

Mine do best when housed alone anyway, when together they end up with bite marks all over their bodies. I have a little one that was housed with another of smaller size, and the smaller one left a massive cut in the front arm of my little guy. This was all before I got him, and now he is alone and healed.

The short end of it is, I wouldn't do it.

I have a community set up but house different species. Right now I have a big fat Mali male with an unknown sex young Egyptian living with a male Sudan plated lizard. They all get along and seem to enjoy each other's company.

Uro's can have a very damaging bite so I am always keeping track of potential issues and have had none. I had an aggressive female Mali once, years ago. But she was not tame to humans either. Not sure if this is a factor or not.

I used to keep my juvenile Egyptians together until one day, the larger one decided to take a bite out of the smaller ones tail. He took a small chunk out of the end.

Needless to say they were all in their own tanks shortly thereafter. The one that got bit went to the vet and is now doing fine. They didn't show any aggression towards each other up until that day.

If I could do it over, I would keep them in their own enclosures from the start. I can't imagine keeping adults together.
