I'm sure there are better sites to post this on but I thought of you guys first. I'm not a rat breeder or keeper, this guy was purchased from a local pet store with the direct intention of being snake food. We bought 5 small rats (since large are impossible to find) and decided to plump them up a bit to make them worthy of eating. I was honestly just bored and watching them for temporary amusment when I noticed this guy. He had a brown patch on his lower back that looked odd.
My eyes aren't the best so this crappy pic is pretty accurate to as what I saw.

At first I thought it was dirt or a bald spot or something so I turned on a like to check him out closer. It turns out that it's not dirt or balding its just normal fur! Not only that but what I assumed was black was now clearly black and grey. It's not grey fading into black because there is a very clear line where the grey stops and black begins. He also has some brown on his chest too. Check him out.
