Happy April Fools!

Two years ago I bred a Double het Ghost male to a Double het Ghost female. Both produced from separate litters so they were unrelated. Here she is being bred this past November:

She made a crazy litter of babies in 2006 but no Anerythristics were in the litter at all so clearly at least one of the parents is not a Double het but just a Hypo. Here are all the hypos that entire litter:

These included several crazy babies shown in this image:

So what did I to do with these babies? I kept them all of course! I have to stop that. Anyhow this is the most striking baby in the litter I think:

At least I thought it was the craziest baby. Well she is doing very well but will not be breedable for a couple more years. So I thought the best thing to breed with the Momma of this odd litter would be the wildest looking male in the litter. He is actually the smallest male I have ever had breed. I need to get a picture of him in my hand. He is barely over 3' and really thin. She easily weighs 15-20 times as much as he does. This is that male:

So it remains to be seen what we might get from this breeding. He could very well be a "Super" Hypo. It is still possible that this female is in fact het for Anery and that she passed that trait onto this little fellow. There is probably a slim chance of that but there is a chance. So I wait. I will be waiting a long time too. She looks really good right now and is enormous. Time will tell...

I just hope she has more than one baby! I sure hope this one baby litter thing isn't a trend that my Boas follow...

Certainly a possibility isn't it? This doesn't seem to be common knowledge but it sure could have been. Thanks for the reminder of that possibility too. I don't like to think about that really, given the fact that I have five females gravid that are carrying babies that I am hoping will include Anerys all sired by unrelated males. I guess it will be interesting huh?

That includes this girl:

She was bred by a Ghost. Who knows?

Not to mention your babies will be possibles and hets for anery type 1.5 and you will not be able to prove which strains are what without generations of test breedings. good luck, i wish you many gray babies
