Just wondering if you know how much these snake weigh now? I have one of the albinos from the same clutch and he is now at 280 grams.

right after you feed him 5 rat pups? HA!

I don't know the gram weight of Terry's Xtremes...but they are not 280g...my WAG would be something like 150g???

Ask Terry he has a scale...

well, he usually eats one every 3-4 days and he is now able to take a juvenile mouse (around 21 day old mouse). His shedding frequency is averaging around 27-28 days.

What I love about this guy is he reminds me of the adult hypo female that Terry M got from me last fall...and as you know, she came out of brumation this spring at 1410 grams. He seems to have the same appetite if not more compared with Terry's adult hypo when she was a youngster. I am hoping at this rate, he will have a go with the ladies next season.

Below is going to be one of his brides to be next year...hehehe. She is from Mike Falcon and is also a definite het anery.

I'm sure he'll be ready next year, as far as size...but you never know if they are really a good breeder until it happens. Just like feeding, some are agressive...others need a glass of wine and some candle light.

Good luck with your breeding this year Ray...oh and that female that Terry got from you is HUGE!

A lot of my snakes that I rear up end up to be huge hondos. As I mentioned to Terry a couple of days ago, she was around 1300s last year and when he mentioned that she was at 1410, well, I think that was a record for her. So, I started weighing some of my adults and found out that two females of mine also crossed the 1400s (pics below).

Good luck as well with your breeding plans and also to the other great people out there breeding milksnakes!

Ray.

female that has stayed real clean. She is only about 700 grams and this will be her first time breeding. She is het anery and is from my v.p. line.

You would like to see her? meaning... another pic of her? Here she is with jsut natural lighting when pic was taken. She's a little over three years old and she has mated with my ghost this season. She is not het anery, so all her babies should just be hypos het anery. I hope to get at least one just like her.

Btw, your hypo IS clean as well. Great looking hondo.

yeah, she is killer I meant the one you sent to Terry. Is it that one?

Shannon

Conserving_herps Apr 05, 2008 12:10 AM

The one I sent to Terry was a Tangerine Hypo and not the tricolor hypo. Below is the last picture of her I had on my hard drive. It's not a real clear pic but you can see how clean she is. Maybe Terry will post new pics of her.

Thanks,

Ray
