What makes a person a "big breeder?" I was talking to a gentlemen yesterday on the phone, and he said he spoke to a big breeder, and I wondered to my self "waht makes a breeder big". When i asked him who he was refering to and he told me, I laugh..because I am way bigger than the other breeder. I am 5'9" and 220 lbs......down from 240 I might add. I know other breeders who are BIG(MIKE)GER than I, so am I a medium breeder? I am confused, can anyone help me.

Pardon the OT, but is that a Hog cross, or Pure?

I'm a Hobbiest myself, but the man says I gotta report my earnings, so I call myself a small (really small compared to you) part time breeder. Others call me worse sometimes.

I guess @ 5'3" and 130lbs, wet and wearing boots, I'd be the smallest (male) breeder around! Do I get some kind of prize? My mom at least tells me I'm special from time to time.

On a side note... that Hypo Mot is SICK! Can you PLEASE PLEASE make some Red Devils!!!!!!

well at 5'6" 145lbs you beat me for the prize.. oh well. considering I have 2 Boas right now Im a tiny breeder. We all gotta start somewhere

you might trade your way into being a big breeder. Man I envy you, I try to give my snakes away and no one will take them.....it must be your machismo.

Guy, I thought I had everybody beat for the smallest breeder, at least in the height category. 5'4" and a svelt 180 lbs, LoL.

I've often wondered the same question... seriously... Is it a certain number of animals kept, bred, or produced that makes somebody a 'big breeder'?

Love that Hypo motley, Chris! Was she bred and if so, by what?

LOL... Chris, big Mike @290lbs is definitely the biggest breeder..and the lineup of boas he produces ain't too shabby either! hahaha.
However you @220 is up there too! Who produces better Motley boas may I ask??..

Mike produces BIGGER motley boas. But beyond that.....

Based on the definitions that they eventually agreed on at the end of that thread.... I am NO LONGER just a hobby breeder ;p Woo hoo! Unless you consider the breeders I own that attempted, but did not take this year, bummer there... but I have over 9 and less than 25 active breeders, so I qualify as a 'small' breeder by general consensus of those reptutable breeders! Ah, my ego inflates mildly...
By the way, thanks again for your help creating birth certificates last year for my first batch of hets. Gotta create more for a litter by the same parents this year... I was hoping for albinos and Dh sunglows this year, but no luck yet. So based on the litters I got, the ones that may be gravid, and the ones that did not birth successful (or fertile) litters, I still feel like just a hobby breeder! ;p SO... maybe next year I will openly call myself a "small breeder."
On a small note up coming up in the world ;p I am excited/hopeful to see my first batch of hog isles, at the end of this month! It feels good to be breeding boas of locale as well as morphs, I'll be eager to see those beauties!
