wonderful day on the job

My Brother and I were out doing survey for a federally endangered cactus on Tues and ran across this little fellow in a packrat midden at the base of a mesquet tree. A sign that the herps are moving! I was graced with the sight of a 5 and 1/2 ft sonoran gopher a few days earlier but did not have my camera so you will have to settle for these images instead

yah! looks like you had a real rough day on the job that's trully a blessing that you not only have a job that you can be out and enjoy nature, but that you can also come across some very nice herps in the wild. congrats, and thanks for sharing.

Yeah, if I catch myself getting grumpy about some trivial aspect of working I am pretty good about taking a step back and counting my blessings. I grew up as a farm kid and got hooked on being outside. (ask me if I so excited about it this summer when I am trudging up some steep slope in 109 degree temps)

What a day on the job is right. Sounds like the perfect job. Family, herps and the outdoors. What more do you need? Thanks for sharing.
