Web Host Suggestions?

BloodManDan Apr 03, 2008 08:59 PM

Just wondering if anybody has any suggestions for a Web Host. I am looking to build my first website, but I don't have much info on all the different web servers/hosts. Any opinions would be appreciated!

HostGator - www.hostgator.com/

I've been using HostGator for 3 - 4 yrs now and never any problems. Fast, friendly support by HostGator staff and/or their peer forum.

No contract, loaded with features, and low price. The base package (Hatchling) had pretty much everything I needed, plenty of allotted bandwidth and plenty features, but I went with the middle plan (Baby Croc) because it allowed unlimited domains.

I think the Baby Croc plan is $7.95 per month if you pay for 1 year in advance, but I don't recommend doing that if this is your first website. Just pay $9.95 per month, every month. I've got my payments set up so they deduct it from my bank account each month so I don't have to worry about forgetting to pay it.

Give 'em a try, I think you'll be glad you did.

Ha! Ha! Just goes to show how Internet access can make just about any fool appear knowledgeable. Haha! Thanks for the compliment.

HostGator's peer support forum allows people to ask questions before opening a hosting account with them. Take advantage of it and hear from actual customers. They don't delete complaints either, so you can see the few that have been posted.
