missing, presumed dead

so i came home from work wednesday night to find my 6 m/o beardie Toki had escaped, after scouring every inch of my room, my guess is that she got into a hole in the wall somewhere near the closet which was just recently cleaned. i live in north dakota and i'm pretty sure there's some gnarly spiders in my walls since i live in a basement. i put a heat lamp and some lettuce by the hole i think she went into. it's been almost 36 hours now though, and i havent even heard a scratch. i miss her already.

don't mark her off as gone....I lost my own bearded dragon in a similar situation, she got into a hole for the baseboard heater pipes, but a week later I heard her scratching about in another room by the baseboard heater in there and was able to retrieve her. She was covered in dust a little skinnier than she was before but other than that, in prefect health. After a bath, a long drink and food, it was like she was not in a wall for a week.

I also suggest putting a dish with her favorite insect food..superworms, silkworms or butterworms...with some food for them..to help get her to come out. Maybe give her a perch to climb on under the heat lamp to. She may climb up to get warm after eating and you will have a better chance of catching her when she spot her.

Oh and if you have cats or dogs, best to keep them out of that room till she's found or several weeks have gone by.

she really only eats crickets, i guess i could let a few go wandering or something, but my roommates claim they've been finding crickets all over anyway, so i think they're around, yeah, it's definitely a similar situation, i just worry because the high around here is only 50 degrees at the most, and we live in the basement, so it's even colder. i definitely keep hoping, but like i said, i'm sure theres some gnarly spiders and other insects that arent too good for her to eat in there...

ok, perhaps i overreacted, i came out of the shower to find her sitting back in her cage, she seems fine, but i think i'll take her to a vet as soon as possible.

gotta love the ingenius of a dragon, it got cold it got tired, it got hungry, and eventually said, well maybe if i go back...
My first dragon I lost once for, 2 weeks almost, found it one day I was heading to school and there he was pooping on my moms carpet in the middle of the hall...
I go, GOTCHA and grabbed him up. He was hungry, a lil nervous of me at first, but yeh dragons are weird.

Snakes... now they can goto the worst places and never find those!

Keep those cages closed!

just curious, how did she get back in her cage?

i have no flippin idea haha, i was keeping an eye on the floor where i put the heat lamp and lettuce for her to turn up, next thing i know, she's in her hideabox like she never left, digging away like she was never even gone. my guess would be is she climed up my bed and made her way in with an lamp cord or something.

sounds like she never escaped, but may have been well hidden in her cage. My first corn snake I bought years ago I thought escaped twice and even after careful searching inside the cage, it still ended up being in the cage, it was just well hidden inside.
