Can anyone recommend a good eye antiseptic ointment?

MAP Aug 29, 2003 12:47 PM

I helped our juvenile Red (Maggie) remove what appeared to be a small piece of aspen from under her eyelid last night. I noticed her scratching at it occasionally, and as I brushed my finger over her eye (she is so calm) I pulled a tiny thin shred out.

There was no cut or anything, but it appears to be little swollen this morning, and she tends to close it frequently.

Has anyone successfully used any over-the-counter antiseptic/antibiotic on their Tegu's eyes? I would like to have something on hand in case any problem persists.

Any Advice?

Thanks in advance.

The eye seemed to have cleared up by the evening. Maybe is was just my hypersensitivity that caused me to believe it looked swollen. In either case, she's looking good, ate like a champ today, and shows no adverse signs. Thanks again for the reference. I'm sure I'll be utilizing that site.
