OT, IS My Butt Too Big?

Jeff Clark Apr 05, 2008 10:58 PM

Even the BIG girls can be popular is they are easy.

These PICs are a couple of my Surinam Redtails. The female is around 7 years old and weighs 51 pounds. The male is 4 years old and weighs 8 pounds. He has been courting her for a couple days but so far has not quite figured it all out. The female has been bred by another larger male this season. My other mature female has also been bred. I cooled them more agressively this year hoping that that will make for better results than last year. Have to wait and see what happens.

Looking good and from what I've read they do need more agressive cooling.

Wishing you the BEST of luck with your BCC's and BRB's!!!

Well, I don't think her butt is too big....unless you look at it with the lights on. I know you've been waiting on BCC for a bit and I hope you have your full of them before long. Amazing, the size difference in the male and female was something I didn't really comprenhend before.

Linda,
....Males of both the Bci and Bcc can get big but the best breeders are often not nearly as long or heavy as the breeding females. Many Bci breeders have 4 pound 5 foot long males breeding with 30 pound or larger females. That female in the PIC is around 9 feet long. It is impossible to measure her accurately because she will not straighten out and using the string method gets differing results. Of my three males one is 10 years old and 7 feet long. One is 7 years old and 8 feet long and the male in the PIC is around 6 feet long. My other adult female is 8 feet long. The 8 foot long male and female each weigh around 25 pounds. I also have a yearling female that is about 4 feet long. All of my Bcc are still growing and perhaps one or two will exceed 10 feet in legth in a couple years. Most of the really big 10 foot Boa Constrictors are females.

Well since I got rid of the bigger pythons I guess I need some BCC, they stay a reasonable size and are quite attractive.

Good luck this year and if you get any I want to be on the list to buy a pair of them.

Those darn rainbows are still breeding, never seen a pair of snakes breed for 5 months except anacondas (they however breed NONSTOP,my friend is breeding them, never seen anything like it).

The male Brazilian is Still going !!!

I should change his name from Octavius to the Energizer Bunny!!!

( I must also mention it's a good thing he decided to eat as well this year or he would be VERY dilapidated from the calorie consumption. )
