New Pets Have a rough ride

dekaybrown Apr 06, 2008 07:24 AM

This last week We made our first purchase requiring shipping.

The connecting flight from Memphis was late at the FedEx terminal, "Delivery Exemption" shows up on the tracking.

Yikes, it's Friday, the truck has already left and there is 2 critters in a box sitting in a warehouse, heat pack clock ticking away.

Thankfully FedEx dispatched a small van to bring the box, so they finally arrived 5 hours late, and the heat pack was still going strong.

Inside was a deli cup and a cloth bag, Hmmm..

First the "pillow case" the Asian Green snake was anxious to stretch out, Immediately wrapped around my arm in a coil and felt a tad cold. So I let him stay on my arm and warm up.

Once the snake warmed up, he discovered the overhead rope lights and thought they were a vine

So then I open up the deli cup an "Chomper" seems healthy and strong, yet tired out from the long ride. Put him in his new home, and he was eating like mad the next day.

Both are eating and drinking now, and both appear to be vibrant and content animals.

Peace,
Wayne A. Harvey

sweet purchase. my first order had a complication as well and I think it too ended up getting to me 5 hours late but no harm done. who did you get the greensnake from? I would definitely appreciated it if you let us know how things go with that little guy -- not too many people keep them and they are one of my favorite snakes.

The Green is the "Giant" Asian variety. this little sub adult is already 3 feet now.

He ate a fat night crawler today!!!!

I built him a cage that stands upright like a coke machine.

Too nice out today...

"I remember a discussion "anuraanman" and I had about them a while back on the "what kind" forum."

I figure I've posted here long enough that I should say that my name is Kiley. I've been trying to figure out how to give my account a signature that includes my name but can't find the signature settings anywhere... perhaps it's obvious and I'm missing it entirely, lol

directly in the middle of the page(where you'd normally post), there, you will see several choices of things in BLUE TEXT. Amongst them, you'll see "User Prefs",...click on that, and you'll see edit user prefs be displayed, down at the very bottom is where you'll see a place to add your signature.

hey look at that, it's right in the middle! I had been messing around with the My Account tab up at the top and never even saw user prefs. Way to go me...

it's sort of like looking for the milk in the fridge and it's in the front center of the top shelf but you CAN'T FIND IT (still have a good eye for snakes though ...) In my case I think I've been a registered member for pushing 6 years but only posted with some form of regularity in the past year or so...

DMong Apr 07, 2008 09:40 PM

I just knew you'd feel like a complete fool when you found out where it was!..LOL!,......yeah, just like your comparison of the milk in the fridge!..I can crtainly relate to that though,...my girlfriend always bugs me about that when she friggin' moves stuff that never needs moving!..GRRR!..LOL!
