It looks to be a neonate Redbelly Watersnake (Nerodia erythrogaster erythrogaster). They eat frogs and fish and are a uniform brown with an orange belly as adults. They are great snakes. Look a few posts down for some pics I posted of this species.

After seeing your other pic on the "What Kind of Snake is This?" forum, I'm going to say that is a neonate Midland Watersnake (Nerodia sipedon pleuralis). The first picture looked to dark to me but that second one clinched it. The natural history is basically the same as above except this species generally retains its colorful pattern as an adult.
