nice digital scale!

DMong Apr 07, 2008 03:49 PM

I got a great little scale today, it weighs in single grams, kilograms, pounds, ounces, and has a zeroing button to account for whatever container you put the animal in as well, and is VERY accurate. My other scale is a "Ohaus" triple-beam scale that works great, but it only weighs suff up to 610 grams. When you account for a small bag, or container, even less than that can be weighed. This new digital even goes up to 11 lbs., which is PLENTY of capacity for ANY colubrid, and then some!. I even weighed a couple fairly large Boa Constrictors on it that are in the 8-10 lb. range now.

This thing is realy great, and I compared all the weights to my extremely accurate triple-beam, and it was right on the money!
A lot of stores had them advertised on-line, but hardly ANY STORES had them at the actual store, you had to mess around ordering, processing, and shipping, 7-10 days, and all that nonsense.

I found this one, and others as well advertised on the net at "Bed Bath & Beyond", called the store, and Bingo!,....they had several nice models in stock. This one was a very affordable $39.99 plus tax.........I'm really happy with it!

Nice find. I love that store. So many things you don't see anywhere else. Not to mention their fixtures. I've been waiting for one store kind of near me to toss out some 2" very heavy coater coated square wire. They use it for hanging stuff on. I want it for cages. But it is a cool store.
