wierd shedding problem

kleen00 Aug 29, 2003 02:28 PM

My burm had the classic signs of shedding...blueish grey covered eyes, lack of vision, etc... and I was keeping her cage misted every so often, the temps were about 78 at night and 85-86 during the day. It had been about 3-4 days of the eyes being greyed out, and today i wake up to find her with no grey eyes which led me to believe that she had shed, but there are no signs of the shed anywhere. Can it dissolve in the water or will they eat it? If not, can the eyes shed seperately from the body?

No offense, but I would have learned more about snakes before purchasing a burmese python. Now is the time to learn all you can about them through this forum and others. Get a good Burm book and read it 20 times.
You do realize that the animal could get VERY large and be capable of inflicting serious damage to you, right? Thats why its important to get the education now before you make any mistakes.
Just my 0.02.

None taken =) Thanks for the heads up...reading the forums has been my only way of knowing what to do and what to expect, hence the noobie posts that I make quite often. I appreciate yall putting up with me. I think next time i will refer to a book before I wildly post something like "How come my snake come to me when I call her name?"

when a snake is in shed you will see the eyes clear for a day or two before they shed
