I'm considering a pair of Mexican pines, but the seller doesn't know if they are P.d.deppei or P.d.jani and I don't know how to tell them apart as babies.
Any help here??

Looks like jani. Also looks like its from Regal reptiles LOL I swear I was sent the same shot before I picked up my pair from them. If that be the case then I have siblings of those.
If they are indeed from Regal reptiles I can attest to their quality. Mine are doing very well, eating like pigs and thriving.

If the person you are buying from is unsure of what exactly he is offering, you might want to look for a breeder that can verify his line of animals.
Case in point: I saw a breeder at the Daytona Expo a couple of years ago that was selling jani. I inquired as to the origin of his breeders. He quoted my name. I then told him that I keep records of every jani that I sell, and that you sir, have never bought a jani from me. You should have seen the look on his face. Your pic looks like a jani to me, but it's up to you to track down the heritage before you shell out your hard earned money.
