Hey guys what's up? News on me lol.

coluberking25 Apr 08, 2008 01:34 PM

It's been awhile. Something strange has happened to me. I've been getting into invertebrates, mostly large ones! It started once I got the emperor scorpions. After that I acquired some baby hissing cockroaches, and am now acquiring an adult pair to begin a colony to feed my scorpions and maybe sell for some profit. It's sooo crazy. Any of you guys ever stray from reptiles for a bit like I'm doing now? lol.

Oh and by the way, BRB fans rejoice, I'm planning on breeding BRBs in the future when I get more space and money.

...You don't need to limit yourself to breeding BRB's you know. I mean seriously how long has Rocky been waiting for a girlfriend anywyas Or if my assumption of Rocky being male is incorrect then a boyfriend. That being said Congratulations on finding an additional passion and good luck with the colony.

And to answer your question yes I took about a 13 year hiatus from reptiles and most animals starting towards the end of highschool and I started back up with BRB's a few years back. Now I just have to worry about housing all my projects as I am up to four species and soon to go up to five

Sean.

You see, the thing is, though love Rocky...if I breed him....no one is going to want to buy CRBs(except Brian Sharp's $25,000 t albinos). BRBs are where the money is at, and I like them too lol.

...I hate them. It doesn't help the awful reputation the already have on that site. They think camel spiders eat flesh off soldiers in their sleep and that they're super deadly....when actually they're harmless and it only hurts like a ***** when they bite.

this is true they arent venomous or anything just aggressive and fearless, and kinda nasty looking. they will eat anything they can find or kill. i think they are way cooler than scorps, and they get pretty big too

When I was a kid, I briefly had a spider collection of all different kinds of amazing arachnids that I culled from the Wisconsin woods where we had a cabin. My parents wouldn't let me keep it for very long though.

The only herps we were allowed back then were anoles---and the occasional catch-and-release turtles, frogs, garter snakes and skinks. I had to wait until I grew up (and moved out) to keep snakes!

Yep, I strayed away from nearly 2 decades. Had to go figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up and where I wanted to live when I grew up. End result: I didnt grow up, but I did figure out what I want to be and where I want to live in case I ever do. Now that I'm here, it didnt take long to come back to the snakes. They have that way about them.

Enjoy your inverts, there are some really neat ones out there.
