Well, Sable refused her meal again this week, and is now going into shed. She still looks rather large, so I'm guessing she proabably is gravid. Crossing fingers!! (What a wierd expression, huh?)

I opened my mouth and out flowed a melody black.
I hope she is full of babies!
I would be happy to drive up and buy the pick or picks of the litter!

Very cool Aubrey! Note the date of the shed and let the countdown begin. 105 - 120 days or so depending on mom's temperature.

What temps are ideal for mommy? Just wondering if moving hide locations in the enclosure during the gravid stage is a good idea.
Sean.

I don't know if ther is an "ideal" temp. My females were kept at either 84 or 86. Dave kept his at around 80. Both seemed to be OK.

I'd have to agree with Mike, think about the wild, no thermostats out there attached to constant heat sources. The snakes have to do more to keep an acceptable temp for gestation. I believe the range of acceptable temp spikes could be much larger. For the three month gestation I would expect hot and cold days. Last year at 80 degrees I had two litters with mostly females and many slugs, was that temp related - dunno!! This year I'm raising my temps to 82 and we'll see what happens.
BTW, 6 females had their POS's this week including Clover (she's huge = large litter?), August is gonna be busy!!!
