Here's a habitat shot...looks promising...
When I first laid eyes on this, it registered in my brain as a scarlet snake...belly was white...seemed to have blotches rather than bands...red head. Maybe some "temporalis" influence?
This little girl turned up about 50 yards from the first...
Sorry for the fuzzy pic...she wouldn't sit still. Thanks again for sharing the experience with me. One more day of work and then heading home tomorrow.
Three species of Lampropeltis in less than 24 hours...not too bad. If weather permits, I'm heading into the NC Mountains this weekend with hopes of turning up triangulum.

GREAT finds... both of them. Very 'influenced' it sorta appears. Amazing two days... to be so lucky! Good work!
Chris Nickelson
Thanks Chris. Just in the right place at the right time. I want to follow up with someone who knows more than I do to find out if these guys would be considered temporalis or elapsoides.
Michael
Those were awesome finds!,...if those pics were just a tad clearer/sharper, a definite answer could be given, but they were sort of undiscernable from the pics, it looked more elapsoides, but can't be absolute. I've raised and bred both subspecies(if you subscribe to temporalis being a bonified ssp. or not) and MANY other types too. Take some clearer shots when you get home, and post them on the "milksnake" forum, not the "kingsnake" forum, myself, Chris, and tons of other "milkheads" will be able to give you VERY sound knowledgeable responses to ANYTHING milksnake.
best regards, ~Doug

of the drinking class!
I've really enjoyed the pics showing the terrain and the commentary about the outings. Thanks for posting them.
