My Okeetees just locked up!

Guttersnacks Apr 09, 2008 07:56 PM

AHAHAHAHHAHA, I'm really happy right now. In the past 5 years I've been a total idiot about breeding what I have in my collection. FINALLY I'll be able to put a little bit of money BACK into the bank for once.
This is...I believe.....the FIRST intentional breeding I've ever had with snakes in my care. I've caught gravid stuff before, and that's cool all in itself, but this was something I actually tried for.
The snakes are a pair of Brad Lichtenhans Okeetees.
I've been putting them together and pulling them apart about every 4-5 days for the last month or so. I separated them the other day because the male was in shed. I checked the shoebox today and he had shed and pooped inside his shed which was mighty polite of him to do.
I dropped him back in with the female, who was looking a little bit like she may have the "string of pearls" as I've heard people call the premature eggs. As soon as I dropped the male in, he went right for the female. 2 to 3 minutes later they were all locked up!
No camera Wife's on the other side of the country and has it.

Umm, just had to share!!

Congratulations!! Those are nice! I have a female I got from Brad that I'll probably put with my Love male next year. Jeff
