Too much food?

Cuda Aug 29, 2003 04:23 PM

when it comes to feeding my snakes are just about always hungry. None of them are overweight, and one of them(wild corn) looks slightly under weight. I usually feed them on tuesdays, however the last few weeks i have started feeding them large meals twice a week with no ill effects. My question is, assuming the snakes do not become overweight, is there anything wrong with feeding them this often?

TIA,
Ben

How old are they? For hatchlings and juveniles, that would be just fine. For more mature snakes, that may be a bit much in the long run, but my snakes eat slightly more often this time of year, due to higher temps and longer days. Maybe move back to every 5 or 6 days, then once a week as the days get shorter.
Some of your snakes should start refusing meals twice a week...or so I would think. Good luck. Duffy
