Cage Help...

dodgedakota09 Apr 09, 2008 10:06 PM

I have two Iguanas a female (Tequiza) and a male (Corona) they are both about a foot and a half long and almost a year old... in about two to three weeks i plan to buy a old solid wood t.v. armoire and turn it into their new cage... the question i have is that i know that the wood will warp or buckle dew to the automatic mister keeping the humidity up... so is there anything that you guys have found that will prevent or at the very least slow this process down? I know that there is wood sealers and water proof paint... just didn't know if this stuff was toxic to the iguanas and which brand was best...

thx for the help and I'll be sure to post the pics of the entire process from the gutting to the final product...

There are wood sealers that you can use, you just have to let it air out for awhile. My hubby knows the name, but isn't here. Ask on the caging forum...they can answer ANY question, LOL!

As an aside, don't be too bummed if you have to separate your iggies later...they don't always appreciate cagemates.
