now some hatchling rack questions

How many qts will house them well? And does anyone have any inexpensive shelter or water dish ideas. Is anyone in a climate similar to Los Angeles so I can know if they need heating elements? I would assume they do as the rest of my snakes do.

Also if I am expecting 2 GBK clutches and a Knoblochi clutch how many containers? What would be a good estimate so I can start to gather some money and estimate the cost of what is to come? I will wait till the eggs are laid for final construction, obviously.

Thanks for any input,
James

I'd wait to see if you get good eggs before you go to all the trouble.

Cheap water bowls = baby food jars; if you don't have a kid, or know someone who does, buy the meat & feed it to the dog.
As far as a cheap hide - a small piece of corrugated cardboard works great. Everybody uses hide boxes - Years ago, I thought, "Ya know, I've never found a snake in a box. They're always under tins, boards, or rocks. Something flat." A piece of cardboard on a mulch, or shavings substrate works perfectly. On the other hand, if you use paper towels as a substrate, you don't even need a hide.
Then again, if you're using shavings, or something like that, they can burrow. If you're using a rack system, they are already in a hide!
Cheers,
Max
