Shed duration from start to finish

dynamohum1 Aug 29, 2003 05:05 PM

How long should a shed take from start to finish? I do not remember it has been a long time since I had these guys. He just started to peel at the tip of his nose and around the eyes.

depending on the dragon, age etc, it can take a few days, a week, some of my adults take a month from the start of shedding and then actually shedding out. babies usually take a few days up to a week or so, this is what i have found in my experiencs.

I don't know what's "Normal", but here's what our three do:
First, they shed their faces and heads... This takes about 2-3 days, from the time it starts. Then they shed their backs and undersides... This takes another couple of days usually. Then there's a period of about a week where they don't shed at all.
Next is the tail and legs. This seems to be the slow part, for some reason. The whole process takes them about 3 weeks.

To make bad matters worse, we have one that seems to want to shed again, and she just finished the last time about two weeks ago...

So, that's how things are going here. It'd be interesting to hear from everybody else on this.
