Auratus Call?

MJCAdawg Aug 29, 2003 05:08 PM

Could someone describe to me what an auratus call sounds like? I hear that it's really quiet and i don't think anyone has a recording of it. I thought I heard my male call last night, but it could have been my cell phone vibrating, cuz i had missed a call. I got real excited though when i heard it, cuz i've never heard it before. So i figured it was it, but i'm probably wrong, cuz i only heard it once, and that was it.thx

I have had G&B auratus for about 18 months now and have several clutches from them but I have not heard them call yet. Not even once. I have been told it is a very low soft buzz, such as you heard. It could have very well been your frogs and not the phone.

Hi,
Last winter when I first heard my male auratus calling it was very soft and their tank is close to our furnace. I went over to the tank and actually saw him calling. The best way I can describe it is it sounds like a battery operated razor running low.It doesn't last very long but you can hear it.Mine aren't shy so they will do it even when I'm watching them.I bet what you heard was their call,I wish it was louder because it has a cool sound to it.
