Well,if you all remember a few posts down I got some speakers from a neighbor that are made of 1/2" plywood.I got the speaker mounts and baffles removed, and sanded the old paint as well as I could.I got a few coats of paint on them and a coat or two of latex over the paint to hopefully seal them a little better.I also noticed that besides glue holding them together, they were assembled with 1/2" staples,so I screwed all the joints together with 2" wood screws just in case. I also sealed all the joints inside with silicone, and found out the hard way that you can't paint over it,so next time I will use white instead of clear so it won't show so bad.I got the bottom one on casters and stacked them, all I have left is to find some vents that will fit the holes in the back, and try and find somewhere local that will sell me some track for some sliding glass (plexi?) doors, and figure out a heat source. How long do you guys think I should give this latex to completely dry?I have been setting them out side in my driveway in the sun for 3 or 4 days at 85 degrees to hopefully speed it up.I was thinking small radiant heat panels, but funds may not allow for it anytime soon.So far,the only $$ I have in is the casters,so this project is definitely coming in under budget LOL. Any thoughts on heating options?
