Lined Kingsnake

dave15run Apr 11, 2008 07:51 AM

I am always looking for information about lined King Snakes. It was the first snake I caught as a boy. It seems they rarely come up for sale, and I am wondering why. They are beautiful snakes.

I caught my lined king in Hayward, CA but I do not think this is an area they usually occur. I guess this is a second question. You guys are so great with answers. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Honestly I am not a "King Snake nut" but I have not heard of a Lined King snake. Are you sure it was not a stripped California King? Such as the one pictured below? I am not sure about the numbers of these occurring in the wild, maybe someone els could chime in on that.

You are correct! This is exactly the snake I had in mind. I have only seen three offerings for this snake in two weeks. ARe they rare? It is a favorite of mine since it was my first.

Thanks for the reply.

give it a little time and you'll see postings in the classifieds in abundance... good luck with that

If you like that take a look at this. Below is a picture of my female taken last year. I hope to breed her soon. She was purchased under the "questionable" name Albino Stripped Chocolate King snake. She really is the pride of my collection.

P.S. As you can see the picture was taken in mid shed so those are her true colors right after the skin comes off.
