I was surfing the net today, and stumbled onto a VERY unique piece of wildlife artwork. Although it certainly looks nice, there was only ONE(1) pretty item of art made from all these rattlesnake rattles. If they were still attached to their rightful owners, there would still be many hundreds of pretty animals left to adorn them in their natural habitat.

The question, of course, is how did he end up with these. If they're the leftovers from snakes that were killed to be eaten at a roundup for instance, I still have some issues with the roundup, but as long as they're being killed, I don't see any reason to let what ever is left go to waste...

I certainly agree with that part, they certainly would be used one way, or another,....most of them as you know get sold as novelties seperately, or on hats, etc...

The artist more than likely had an "inside" helper from the processing location, and either knew, or even participated directly with the "round-ups".

I think that artwork was in Klaubers Rattlesnake book.
That was so long ago, I'd have to check my copy.
