I wasnt sure if it was a pit when I found it, it had a strange pattern. I have found pits before but not like this one. I believe we have catenifers out here.

a glossy snake to me. nice little snakes. i want to find one myself.
How big do they get? This one was around two and a half to three feet in length.
hmmm not sure exactly but i think around 4 feet or so.

I wish that I had determined if the scales were smooth or not, that would have helped.

Glossy snake? Are you sure? Do those live in the mojave desert in southern cali?
