Blizzard King or Snow King?

ravensmom Apr 11, 2008 10:32 PM

I would love an all white snake that is affordable for the average person. Does anyone have an general idea of how much either of these run and which is more white?
Thanks

If you just want a solid white snake, you could get a Leucistic Texas Rat Snake. They start off pink as juveniles, then become solid white as adults. No kings come in solid white yet.

You could also get a blizzard corn snake... they aren't that bad price wise and are solid white... as already stated i don't think the king snakes have an all white breed yet...

There is some detectable pattern on them.

I paid $60 for this girl as a hatchling back in '04. She's not solid white, but close enough for me........

I got her at the Hamburg Pa. show from B.E.S.T. reptiles. They said they were selling her and her siblings for a friend, so they didn't have any background on her. I'm hoping to put her together with my nitida male (het albino) either later this year or next year.

Nitida male........

That's an awesome snake.
I can't wait to see what the young from that pairing look like.

Thanks Funky. They SHOULD look like both parents. Genetically I should get a half and half clutch of melanistics (nitida forms) and snows (albino X melanistics). What I want to see from their clutch is the striping. Both have perfect stripes from the napes of their necks to the tips of their tails. So, I want to see if thats a genetically transferrable trait, or just luck of the draw. Thanks again!!!
