Burgundy Balls

darkbloodwyvern Apr 13, 2008 03:06 AM

Hey,
does anyone know if these proved out? I have seen lots of old (2003) photo galleries with burgundy balls, but not much recent stuff. anyone here have more info on the morph or pictures? they seem to be pretty cool, but most info/animals for sale seems a bit outdated! thanks!

Yet there are only three breeders that have proven lines.(That i know of.),and i suspect alot of those were held back for future crosses.

With any luck i'll get to join the ranks this year with my own line..I've bred 2.4 "het" offspring together this season(From an older ltc burgundy female, which never quite recovered enough to be bred again.)and one "het" daughter is gravid..She is due to lay in about two weeks or so.

Here is a shot of my ltc female, and the sire(50% het caramel) of her only clutch.

I believe the Barkers have a clutch incubating from a wc female they have been trying to get to breed for several years.....

Here's a pic of a Burgandy female we produced 1.1 pastels from and are hoping to breed male pastel back to her this upcoming season.

When I first got this female, I thought she was a Burgundy type of Hypo. This female is the original Sulfur, and has proven out to be genetic, and in crosses, produce a Maroon wash over its offspring. She is not a simple recessive Hypo...so, my opinion is an Burgundy Ball is worth taking a shot on. Some are REALLY nice!

wow! she looks nice! so she is co- dominant? or something aside from recessive? that's really neat, good find.
thanks for sharing!

Yes, probably CoDom, but not proven CoDom, but proven genetic.

The first pic shows a Sulfur Mojave and a Mojave, the next two show a Sulfur Pastel and a Pastel. The second pic takes a few minutes of staring at it, but look at the heads, one looks like a Super, one like a Pastel...
