Which way to go with Lemon female ....

OZZ1978 Apr 13, 2008 01:38 PM

So I picked up this lemon female today and am wondering which way to go with her and am interested in peoples opinions. I havent gotten a weight on her yet but thats a full size couch shes on ..

Bumblebee, Pastave, or Lemon Blast.... which male should I get? Spyder, Mojave, or Pinstripes are all within the same prcie range (give or take).

Keep in mind this female will probably take 2 years before shes ready to go so the price drops will need to be taken into consideration. Plus the fact that I could use the male on normal females sooner.

Soooo which way is wisest?? Bumblebees, although more common and right now are worth less, are very attractive and Im sure will have a demand for quite awhile just because they are so attractive. Pastave ... lemon blast ... are worth more now and possibly in the future ...

Open to hear everyones thoughts!!

Thanks so much!

Decide which combo you personally like best and go with that!

First off, how is a snake that carries a dominant and co-dom gene worthless?

Second, go with what you like. Any money you make is a bonus.

And in personal opinion...lemon blasts are awesome.

Personally, I'd wait to decide if I were you. Give it another 12-18 months. In that time you female will be closer to breeding size and age and the prices will have come down as well.

Not only that, but if you are like most of the people on here - you'll want a different combo every third week. I'd wait and see what other combos pop up in the future - you may change your mind. Even though pastels have been crossed into most of the other morphs, there may be one or two combos that you haven't even considered or seen yet.

Plus, as the prices come down you may be able to afford more than one of your desired morphs for almost the same price as you could get one now.

I think Brandon said it best - wait. Looks like she's got a bit of growing up to do before breeding and your taste will change as will the market and prices. Really if you wanted to you could pick up all three males and breed 'em all to her and see what happens.

I think Brandon said it well, whatever you chose congrats on a killer pastel. CM

For a Pastel female, I would get a nice Pin male. If you want an off the wall answer, a Vanilla or Sulfur or Fire. My Sulfur Pastel is amazing, and I would imagine the Vanilla and Fire crosses with the Pastel are amazing too.

This pic shows a Pastel female (just sold) and a Sulfur Pastel.

The Sulfur Pastel seems to resist browning out. The female Pastel in the pic has browned out, but has really nice lemon coloring on her sides.

I love Bees!!! If they only sold for $.50 each I would still love them and she looks like she could make some killer Bees!!
